The Blood of Dawnwalker gets Sept. 3 release date
Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves confirmed The Blood of Dawnwalker launches Sept. 3 on consoles and PC, alongside a new story trailer for the dark fantasy RPG.
September launch locked in
The Blood of Dawnwalker will launch on Sept. 3 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, giving 2026’s RPG slate another big fantasy release.
Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Rebel Wolves also dropped a new story trailer, moving the studio’s vampire RPG from early buzz into its final stretch.
Ex-Witcher team leans into dark fantasy
Rebel Wolves was founded by former Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, and Dawnwalker still wears that influence openly.
The game stars Coen, a half-human, half-vampire “Dawnwalker” trying to save his family in 14th-century Europe as war and the Black Death tear through the region.
- Vampires use the plague as leverage by offering treatment in exchange for blood.
- Coen can walk in daylight, setting him apart from traditional vampires.
- The story is choice-driven, with players shaping how far he goes.
Combat mixes swords, magic, and tempo shifts
Rebel Wolves is pitching a combat system that blends swordplay and magic with a mix of real-time and turn-based ideas, putting it closer to modern hybrid action RPGs than a pure character-action game.
That setup, along with the setting and monster-hunting vibe, makes this one an obvious watch for anyone waiting on the next Witcher.
