Spy tools take center stage

007 First Light has dropped a new gameplay trailer, and IO Interactive is leaning hard into stealth, gadgets, and player choice ahead of the game’s launch next month.

The new "Rules of Spycraft" footage shows Bond slipping through guarded spaces, bluffing his way past security, and listening in on conversations to open new paths through missions.

Stealth over brute force

The trailer makes clear this is not just a shooter. Players can sneak, perform takedowns, and use parkour routes to move through levels without raising alarms.

IO is also pushing social stealth. Bond can blend into restricted spaces, gather intel, and use the environment to stay one step ahead instead of going in loud.

Q Branch loadout expands

Between missions, players will be able to regroup with allies, collect intel, and prep for what comes next. The trailer also gives a closer look at Bond's gadget kit, including:

  • Q-Lens
  • Q-Watch
  • Dart Phone
  • Smoke Pod
  • earbuds and other spy gear

Those tools seem built to handle tougher enemy types, especially armored foes that may need more than a clean headshot.

Combat still has a place

When stealth breaks down, Bond can improvise with the environment by throwing objects, vaulting obstacles, or shoving enemies into hazards. Guns are still part of the kit, and the trailer shows plenty of close calls where things get messy fast.

A Focus ability can also slow time briefly for precision shots, giving combat a more tactical edge.

Tac Sim adds replay loop

IO also confirmed a Tac Sim mode where players can test their skills, earn experience, and unlock upgrades. The studio says that mode will keep getting new content over time.

The trailer follows last week's title sequence reveal, which paired the game with a Bond-style opening and a theme song by Lana Del Rey.
