Grounded 2 update adds King Dozer boss and Playground
Grounded 2's latest early access update adds the King Dozer boss, buggy upgrades, the Sinkhole Anthill, and the long-awaited Playground editor.
King Dozer enters the yard
Grounded 2 just rolled out a major early access update, adding a new lizard boss, a deeper mount upgrade system, and the long-teased Playground custom map mode.
The big new addition is King Dozer, a giant lizard boss that hits with heavy physical attacks and spits magma. Beating it unlocks new rewards, including weapons, armor, gear, furniture, and trophies.
Buggy upgrades get deeper
The patch also adds Buggy Progression, giving players more control over how their insect mounts perform in combat and exploration.
- Moldy Milk Molars can now be used to improve buggy health, damage, and effectiveness.
- Players can also enhance support systems and prep buggies for harder fights.
- The update includes active and passive mutations tied to each buggy’s specialty.
New anthill opens up
A new area called the Sinkhole Anthill is now live, bringing more creatures, resources, and gear to chase. The patch also introduces mutated creatures connected to the O.G.R.R. labs.
That gives players a fresh chunk of content beyond the boss fight itself, especially for anyone already pushing through the current early access path.
Playground mode finally arrives
Playground, the game’s custom map creation mode, is now available as part of the update. The patch also adds several smaller gameplay fixes and quality-of-life changes.
- Players can now block while holding a bow.
- New Easter objects have been added.
- Inventory navigation has been improved.
For an early access update, this is a pretty big one. It adds a new special boss, expands progression, and gives players more reasons to keep digging around the yard.
