Hades 2 hits PS5 and Xbox, joins Game Pass today
Hades 2 is now on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Melinoë leading the sequel's fast roguelike action. It also lands on Xbox Game Pass today.
Console wait ends
Hades 2 launched today on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the game also joining Xbox Game Pass right away.
That finally brings Supergiant’s hit roguelike sequel to console players who missed its earlier release on other platforms.
Melinoë takes the lead
This time, players control Melinoë, sister of Zagreus, as she pushes deeper into the Underworld to stop Chronos, the Titan of Time.
The story is new, but the gameplay is familiar: fast runs, constant deaths, and builds that get stronger and weirder the longer you play.
- New weapons include the magical Umbral Flames and the fast Sister Blades
- Godly boons from figures like Poseidon, Aphrodite, Zeus, Demeter, and Hestia reshape each run
- The sequel does not require playing the first Hades to follow along
More systems, more chaos
Hades 2 keeps the first game’s slick combat, but it also piles on more currencies, upgrade materials, and crafting-style items. That added depth gives players more to chase, even if it can make some runs feel cluttered or overly random. Different weapons, boons, and status effects can change the feel of a run almost completely.
PS5 and Xbox extras
Supergiant says the game can run at up to 120 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X. On PS5, it also uses the DualSense for haptic feedback during attacks.
One catch: there is no cross-save on PlayStation at launch. That means players moving in from another platform may need to start over.
Even so, Hades 2 arrives on consoles as one of the best roguelikes around, and a very easy Game Pass recommendation.
