Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 rumored for October 2026

A new rumor claims Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 could launch on one of October 2026's five Fridays. Activision has not announced the game or confirmed any release details.
October window surfaces
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is rumored to be targeting October 2026, according to a new claim from leaker CharlieIntel.
The timing is still unconfirmed, but the leak goes a step further than a broad fall window. The claim says the game should arrive on one of the five Fridays in October.
Specific date still missing
The latest chatter came in replies on X, where CharlieIntel said the next Modern Warfare is due this year and narrowed the launch down to October Fridays when asked for more detail.
Activision however has not announced the game, and there are still no official release details, platforms, or a reveal date.
Series demand looks strong
The timing would make sense for Call of Duty, which usually releases in that period. It would also bring the series back to Modern Warfare after back-to-back Black Ops releases.
Player interest in the subseries still looks high. Modern Warfare (2019) recently saw a fresh surge on Steam after a steep discount, enough to push it to a new all-time player peak years after launch.
Reveal should follow
If the rumor is right, the next big question is when Activision starts the marketing cycle. A reveal later this year would line up with the publisher’s usual playbook, but that has not been confirmed either.
For now, Modern Warfare 4 looks like the leading rumor for Call of Duty’s 2026 mainline release, but it is not 100% sure yet.
