Console push follows rough PC launch

Samson is still on track for a console release this fall after a buggy PC debut earlier this month, and developer Liquid Swords says a steady stream of fixes and content updates will lead the way.

The open-world action brawler is directed by Christofer Sundberg, best known as the creator of Just Cause. But its launch on PC was plagued down by major bugs, and early player reviews has been mixed despite praise for the game’s core ideas.

Weekly patches through early May

Liquid Swords has mapped out short-term updates aimed at stabilizing the game and tightening its systems before the console version arrives.

  • Weekly patches are planned through early May.
  • Updates 3 to 6 will focus on combat refinements, new car variants, performance improvements, and bug fixes based on community feedback.
  • The studio says it is actively collecting input through Discord and forums to help set priorities.

Two content drops already scheduled

Beyond bug fixing, Liquid Swords has also locked in two larger updates for the next few months.

  • Content Update 1, due in mid-May, will expand the combat system with more depth around the game’s physics-heavy fighting mechanics.
  • Content Update 2, planned for mid-June, will focus on vehicles and build out the driving experience.

Console platforms still unclear

Liquid Swords has not confirmed which consoles are getting Samson. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are likely, but a Switch 2 release is not clear yet.
