Saros PS5 Pro features revealed
Housemarque says Saros launches April 30, 2026 with major PS5 Pro upgrades, sharper visuals via PSSR, and a 60 fps gameplay target.
PS5 Pro gets the spotlight
Housemarque says Saros will launch on April 30, 2026, with a big focus on showing off both the standard PS5 and especially the PS5 Pro.
The biggest upgrade is support for the newer version of PSSR, Sony’s AI upscaling tech, which the studio says delivers a sharper image that gets very close to native 4K.
Sharper image at 60fps
On PS5 Pro, Housemarque says Saros also runs with a higher base render resolution before upscaling, plus scene-by-scene image quality improvements in reflections and other visual settings.
The studio says gameplay targets a steady 60 fps on both PS5 models, while key story cinematics switch to 30 fps to push character detail, lighting, and post-processing even higher.
- Updated PSSR for cleaner image quality
- Higher base resolution on PS5 Pro
- Dynamic resolution used during heavy combat
- 30 fps cinematics for max visual quality
DualSense and 3D audio pushed harder
Housemarque is also leaning hard into the PS5 feature set that helped define Returnal. That includes expanded Tempest 3D AudioTech, with enemies, music, and environmental sounds built to surround the player.
The DualSense gets layered trigger inputs too. A half-pull on L2 fires an alt attack, while a full press triggers a more powerful Eclipse-driven weapon mode.
The studio also teased more detailed haptics and near-instant reloads after death thanks to the PS5 SSD, tying both into Saros’ fast combat loop.
Early access starts sooner
Players who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition can start playing 48 hours early. Pre-orders also unlock the Hands of Shore Armour, while the deluxe edition includes bonus suits themed around Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Yotei.
