Spider-Man 3 tease sparks fresh buzz over Insomniac plans

A deleted motion capture photo from Peter Parker face model Ben Jordan has fans wondering if Insomniac has started work on Spider-Man 3.
Spider-Man 3 hint slips out
Ben Jordan, the face model for Peter Parker in Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man games, briefly posted a motion capture photo that suggests work is underway on Spider-Man 3.
The image showed Jordan in a mo-cap studio doing Spider-Man’s signature web-shooting pose before the post was deleted. Insomniac and Sony have not announced a third game.
Awkward timing for Insomniac
The slip comes while Insomniac is still focused on Marvel’s Wolverine, which is expected in September.
The main question is what Jordan was actually filming. A Spider-Man appearance in Wolverine is possible as well, but that remains unconfirmed.
- Most likely: early work on Spider-Man 3
- Also possible: a Spider-Man cameo in Wolverine
- Still unconfirmed: what project the mo-cap session was for

What the clue points to
Jordan is closely tied to Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, and the Spidey pose makes some kind of work on a new Spider-Man game obvious. That said, there is still no official confirmation of Spider-Man 3.
If the studio has started production, that would fit normal timing. Teams often begin shifting to the next project as a major release moves into its final phase.
Release likely years away
Even if Spider-Man 3 is in development, fans should not expect it soon. There was a five-year gap between the first two mainline games.
If Insomniac follows a similar schedule again, Spider-Man 3 may not arrive until 2028 or later. That raises another obvious question: whether it ends up as a late PS5 game, a PS6 game, or both.
